Staff Reductions Post Consolidation
Fifteen administrative positions have been eliminated at Georgia State University as a result of the consolidation.
Seven of the affected employees were from Perimeter College and eight from the Atlanta campus.
Georgia State’s Human Resources Department informed the affected employees at Georgia State and Perimeter in individual meetings on Monday, Feb. 1. Counseling, professional development and job search support are being provided to all of the employees. A career transition center has been established and employees will receive one-on-one assistance from internal staff and an executive outplacement consulting firm.
Restructuring of staff positions resulting from the consolidation was the primary reason for the staff reduction. Positions that were eliminated were identified based on function and strategic needs of the university.
